good gosh: Alexander McQueen

i have a love affair. and it is with Alexander McQueen and his spring 2010 rtw.
oh, the patterns! and the shapes! and those shoes! its like a pre-evolutionary beings from the future and it is fantastic.

the blue and the red, the beautiful coloring, its just killing me right now. i just cant describe how beautiful they are.

some would look at this work and be like, "who would wear that, its ugly, its so impractical". to them i say "who the f cares? its ART!" and clothes like this truly are art, there is no other word for it. the colors, the way they move, the whole presentation, its so inspiring. McQueen is a designer to me that in someways, is drop dead gorgeous, and in others so ugly its beautiful. and as extra points, pop culture's newest freak lady gaga is decked in his fashions in her "bad romance" video [which i too, have an obsession with]

McQueen, you are fantastic.

pretty grunge.

i feel a litle grungy today - but in a good way. i mean, i showered, but am also rocking some flannel, band tees, chipped nails, and chucks. but prettied because i showered, wore a silver belt and have a denim skirt. its not much in my effort to wear more colors, but i still really love this outfit today.
[apparently i was doing a dance]

actually, when i was finished taking photos i listened to the grungiest music i own and gave everyone apathetic looks.
the return of the anberlin tee! i swear this is my favorite shirt. its so comfortable, fits perfectly, and has an tiger on it. basically awesomeness. do you have a favorite fall-back shirt?
rock on.

working for the weekend.

is that song stuck in your head yet?
as it is wednesday, or hump day [i am far too immature and dirty minded to ever call it that] i thought i'd be clever and wear a blue-collar working-man looking shirt-dress [whew! those hyphens!] so i could use the clever blog title you see above. get it? working? okay, nevermind.
[the arches frame this so nicely]

hmmm, i originally thought of this as a very blue-collar shirt-dress, but i keep changing my mind. the lady at the store told me that it reminded her of the shirts charlie's grandparents wear in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But lately I've been reminded of a baseball girl. like, a what a 40's tomboy would wear to play baseball with the guys from the cul-de-sac. i tried to find a picture to explain, but all i could get was sexy halloween costumes. not exactly the idea.
[that dusty light! that pose! wheres my editorial?]

fun fact: i spelt wednesday as 'wensday' until i was a high school senior. i guess i never learned how to spell it, and just went with how it sounds.

be happy that there's only half a week left!

my chucks go places: ada jenkins center.

today we venture to the run-down building where i tutor. despite this, ada has a certain charm, and not just because of the adorable kids there. all the old and run-down aspects, its a fascinating change from the red brick and trees of my school.

vandalism and radiators.

i've talked before about what the ada jenkins center does, i'm a part of the after school program for underprivileged kids, but they also run a free clinic, community center, etc. i love working there, everyone is so nice and giving. its a great place to work, and the nice walk over there is a much needed break from campus.

as i've talked so much about ada before, i don't really have that much more to say. except maybe to emphasize that everyone should get involved with something like this.

and as usual, if anyone has any suggestions for me, i would LOVE to hear them. thanks!

book smart.

i feel like a look very collegiate and bookish today, so i took the photos to the library.
the main outfit focus of today was this american eagle sweater vest that i got on super-sale. the thing is, they only had it two sizes to big - i still got it. i thought i could belt it, or as its so long, turn it into some sort of sweater dress. today is my first experiment with , so let me know how it looks! some of the pictures just looked plus-sized, so i'm not sure yet...
[shhhhh!]
[playing sexy librarian.]

[that book was in russian, i can't pretend to know what it was talking about.]

actually, to take outfit photos was not my only reason for a trip to the library, i had about ten overdue books in my room. total accrued fines: $6.70. yeah...

in light of my sexy librarian shenanigans, if i try this outfit again, i might break out my denim pencil skirt, what do you think? or do i just look like a plus-sized model and should retire the whole thing?
